What is tested at the MLB Draft Combine?
Ever want to know what it takes physically to perform at the highest level? Athlete Development Solutions co-founder Dr. Phil Plisky takes Dan Sarmiento (@dsarm) through the MLB Combine testing. The testing includes range of motion (including all shoulder, elbow and hip range of motion; thoracic rotation; and half kneeling closed chain dorsiflexion), the Selective Functional Movement Assessment Top Tier, Functional Movement Screen, Y Balance Test, grip strength, vertical jump, broad jump, and 30-yard dash.
From @dsarm "I got the opportunity to compete at the ACTUAL MLB Draft Combine in Phoenix, AZ at Chase Field (home of the Diamondbacks). I got to compare my skills to top draft prospects like Max Clark, Paul Skenes, and Dylan Crews. We also got guest appearances from Max, Charlee Soto, and Noble Meyer who are all 1st-Round projected players. Thank you to Major League Baseball for giving me the opportunity to show YOU GUYS what it's like to be a top MLB prospect getting ready for Draft Day on July 9th."
