The Best Tip for Young Pitchers

Parents and coaches of young pitchers often ask for advice about the child's development as a player.  I like to tell parents that the best thing for development for your kid is to follow the MLB Guidelines for Youth and Adolescent Pitchers.  This sets the tone for age and how many throws and how many pitches a young pitcher should have throughout the week and throughout a month. One thing I like to tell people is you can't out recover too much throwing. What does that mean? If you're throwing too much, you're going to start to tear down your body a little bit more, and injuries are going to start popping up.   That will prevent the pitcher from staying  on the mound. The best way to stay on the field is going to be following those pitching guidelines so that you're not overdoing it as a pitcher.
